Destiny 2: Shadowkeep – How To Pre-Load On PS4

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is the latest expansion for Bungie‘s shared-world shooter franchise, bringing with it the fan-favourite Moon location and the Armor 2.0 system, which completely revamps everything we know about Destiny’s gear system.

Remember how The Taken King was such marked improvement for the original Destiny and how last year’s Forsaken revitalised the sequel? Well, Bungie’s hopeful that Shadowkeep will continue this upward trend, which means there’s plenty of reason to be excited for it.

Shadowkeep is out today, but folk are having problems when it comes to preparing for the expansion’s release. Specifically they want to know how to pre-load Shadowkeeep on PS4.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep – How To Pre-Load On PS4

Destiny 2 is currently down for maintenance in preparation for Shadowkeep. The Shadowkeep pre-load size clocks in at around 23GB for PS4, so it’s a pretty meaty file size; make sure you’ve got enough space on your hard drive, eh?

To begin pre-loading Shadowkeep, highlight Destiny 2 on the PS4 menu and hit options and ‘check for updates,’ which should initiate the process. That is, assuming the download doesn’t start automatically when you fire up your PS4.

You’ll know you’ve done it when the Destiny 2 Shadowkeep logo appears upon booting up the game.

Destiny 2 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in September 2017, and arrived on PC the following month. The game has received three major expansions prior to Shadowkeep, including Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken.

Bungie has re-launched Destiny 2 as a free-to-play title with the release of Destiny 2: New Light this month, which it’s only been able to do since splitting with publishing partner Activision.

The former Halo developer intends to release at least one non-Destiny title by 2025 as it strives to become one of the world’s leading entertainment businesses.
