In what’s being described as a “landmark partnership” and “the first of its kind”, the West Virginia Tourism Office is joining forces with Bethesda on a unique Fallout 76 promotion.

The partnership was revealed late yesterday by Governor Jim Justice and the West Virginia Tourism Office. During which the former expressed his hopes that Bethesda’s upcoming multiplayer action RPG will show the rest of the world “what a gem West Virginia is”.

“For years, I’ve been saying we have it all: beautiful scenery, the best people you could ask for and more. And now, we get to share a piece of that with people all over the world through the unique lens of this video game”.

He knows Fallout 76 is set amongst the ruins of an irradiated post apocalypse, right?

Fallout 76 Promotion Aims to Educate Players

Truth be told, we don’t know exactly what the promotion entails at this stage. However, the Tourism Office has revealed one of its major goals is to educate players about the region’s unique landscape and culture.

To that end, the Tourism Office has said there will be advertising and touring opportunities provided over the coming weeks and months; numerous “Vault Boy sightings”; and opportunities to learn more about Fallout 76’s array of new beasties – many of which, like the Mothman and Flatwoods Monster, are based on authentic West Virginia folklore.
