FIFA 23 Will Not Feature The Russian National Team Or Clubs, EA Has Revealed

Electronic Arts has revealed that FIFA 23 will not feature the Russian national team or clubs, having previously removed them from FIFA 22 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking in a statement issue to Eurogamer, the publishing behemoth confirmed that Russia is not represented in FIFA 23, saying the EA Sports “stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.”

EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine. In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in FIFA 23.

FIFA 23 is scheduled for release on September 30, 2022 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The game will feature full Cross-Play support as well as Women’s Leagues, and is set to be the last FIFA game before EA moves to its own brand, EA Sports FC.
