Rumor – The Last Of Us: Part 2 Online & Killzone Online For PS5 Launch

Sony will launch the PlayStation 5 in holiday 2020, although right now we don’t have any idea what the format holder will have in store for launch. However, a recent online poll posted by Official PlayStation Magazine UK has suggested that The Last of Us: Part 2 Online and Killzone Online will form part of the day one lineup.

PS5 Launch Lineup To Include Killzone Online

The list also includes Ghost of Tsushima (which has already been rumoured to come to the PS5) and Horizon Zero Dawn 2. However, the inclusion of Killzone Online and The Last of Us: Part 2 Online are quite interesting, as they aren’t quite as predictable as the other two; could OPM be on to something, or are they just speculating like the rest of us?

Killzone hasn’t graced a Sony home console since the PS4 launch in 2013, although that’s because Guerrilla Games has spent most of this generation working on Horizon Zero Dawn and its DLC. We did get Killzone: Mercenary for the PS Vita, but that was more of a spinoff game.

Speaking of Horizon Zero Dawn 2, we’ve heard murmurs that the sequel is in the works, and to be honest, it wouldn’t be all that surprising; the original game sold over 10 million copies as of February 2019, so they were hardly going to put the IP on hiatus.

As for The Last of Us: Part 2 Online, Naughty Dog confirmed last month that the online component for its post-apocalyptic sequel has been binned. Instead, it will release the mode at a later date, so it’s possible that it may end up on the PS5.

We’ve had a stab at the possible PS5 launch lineup, so be sure to check out our feature and see what we think will grace the platform on day one.
