Merle Dandridge has been cast as Marlene in The Last Of Us’ HBO TV Series, reprising her role from the game, as she played the character back in the original 2013 release.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the character, who leads the fireflies, joins Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, and Pedro Pascal as Joel.

The show is set to enter production in July and has amassed a group of directors with Jasmila Žbanić and Ali Abbasi joining Kantamir Balagov as the pilot’s director. Whilst the show will follow the entire first game, it will also feature sequences and scenes that were cut or never appeared.

Meanwhile, The Last of Us Part 2 just received a 60 FPS update for PS5 and the factions multiplayer mode for the game is still being worked on. A remake of the first game is also reportedly in development at Naughty Dog after being passed around to a few studios.
