Fans eagerly awaiting the next generation release of Minecraft may be faced with more wait time, according to 4J Studios.
At the beginning of the month, the team declared that bugs plaguing all three new version of Minecraft–those being the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox One–and that these next-gen versions won’t reach the testing team until the bugs are properly exterminated:
We’re still fixing #MinecraftXbox1, #MinecraftPS4 and #MinecraftPSVita bugs. We’ll let you know when we hand over to the Cert testing teams!

This weekend, 4J indicated that the team is still working on ironing out bugs on the upcoming versions of the game.

An announcement like this doesn’t mean that the PS4 and PS Vita versions of Minecraft will necessarily be delayed until 2015 since the release window has been rather fluid, but this news might indicate a delay past the rumored August release.
Since other developers like Blizzard are seeing the capabilities of the newer consoles, certainly 4J Studios realizes that the ability to update its game with patches and content is much easier than it was. With that in mind, it’s possible that these unspecified bugs mentioned are too big to iron out with a day-one patch.
Expect further updates on the Minecraft front as the release date, and the efforts the development team is taking to achieve it, draws closer.
