Gears of War PS5 Halo PS5 Hi-Fi Rush PS5 Microsoft News Phil Spencer PlayStation PS5 Sea Of Thieves PS5 Sony Starfield PS5 Xbox Xbox Exclusives Coming To PlayStation Xbox Game Studios

Phil Spencer Says We’ll Hear From Him And The Xbox Team Next Week On Their “Vision For The Future Of Xbox”

Over the weekend, the internet was set a blaze with rumours and reports that Xbox wouldn’t just be bringing certain select titles like Hi-Fi Rush or Sea Of Thieves to PlayStation, but that Xbox will essentially stop having exclusive titles.

That means the likes of Halo, Gears Of War, Starfield, etc. are all allegedly getting a PS5 release. Xbox had so far, not said anything about the rumours – until now.

Phil Spencer, the chief executive officer of gaming at Microsoft broke the silence to say that the team hears what fans are saying, and that they had been planning “a business update” for next week.

When that goes live, we’ll hear what he and the rest of the Xbox team have as their “vision for the future of Xbox.”

“We’re listening and we hear you. We’ve been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.”

While nothing about this statement confirms that any of the rumours circling over the weekend are true, this does imply that there’s a big change in strategy coming, which is the crux of all these rumours.

So even if it’s not entirely true that Halo, for example, will be coming to PlayStation, it could still be true for Starfield. Which, for all those who recall would align with what Spencer has previously said, evaluating whether a game would be exclusive on a “case by case” basis.

Still, everything from the weekend and that’ll surely appear throughout the course of this week is just speculation. Until we hear directly from Spencer and the rest of the Xbox leads, best to keep expectations in check.
