Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Has Gone Gold Ahead Of January Release

Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown has officially gone gold, developer Ubisoft Montpellier has announced, exactly a month before its launch this coming January.

The Lost Crown has the benefit and the misfortune of being the first new Prince Of Persia title to arrive in some time, even though it more than likely should have been the long-anticipated Sands Of Time Remake.

That, at the very least seemed like Ubisoft’s plan, not expecting it to switch teams and face the delays it has. The Lost Crown isn’t the game fans thought they were going to get, but it could very well turn into a pleasant surprise.

Being a 2D platformer and having the team behind Ubisoft’s excellent Rayman games inspires a strong confidence, on top of some gameplay showcases that have begun to win Prince Of Persia fans over.

With Montpellier’s precedent, it won’t be a huge surprise if it turns out to be an excellent game, it’s just unfortunate luck that it will now be forced to work harder in the eyes of fans due to it now representing the first step in Ubisoft’s effort to bring the series back to life.
