A report on GameReactor has claimed that Gearbox is co-developing a spinoff entry in the Borderlands franchise, which is set to be unveiled at E3 2021.
This report has some weight to it, firstly because we know that Gearbox will be involved in the digital E3 2021. Secondly, renowned leaker Jeff Grubb has revealed that he “kind of heard about that too” in regards to the spinoff Borderlands game, but isn’t sure about Gearbox’s exact role in the project.
Grub obviously has a very solid track record when it comes to outing as-yet unannounced projects, and has proven very reliable in the past. Still, right now the game remains unconfirmed, so take it with a pinch of salt just to be safe eh?
The last entry in the Borderlands series came in the form of 2019’s Borderlands 3, and the game’s Director’s Cut DLC only just recently launched for PS5 and PS4 following a brief delay.
