After almost a year of waiting, THQ Nordic has finally announced the SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated release date for PS4 as June 23, 2020.
The remake of the 2003 PS2 game from Purple Lamp Studios offers a completely new experience with high-end visuals, a modern resolution, and restored content that was cut from the original game. On top of that, a new multiplayer horde mode is being included for two players, both online and locally.
Two special editions of the game are also being released. The Shiny Edition includes art prints, some tennis socks, some stickers, and a figurine. The more expensive F.U.N Edition includes two additional figurines of Patrick and Sandy and some tiki keyrings.
PS4 pre-orders are set to be going live before the game’s release, sometime down the line. However, to tie you over, THQ Nordic has released a brand new trailer for the game.
THQ Nordic revealed the game back during E3 2019, surprising a lot of gamers who never thought the beloved title would see the light of day again. Then, a few months later at Gamescom, we got an extended chunk of gameplay, showcasing the game’s gorgeous visuals.
