Anthem Delay Is Due To New Battlefield Game Coming in October 2018

Following news recently that the Anthem release date will be 2019, Electronic Arts has confirmed that a new Battlefield game will launch in October 2018.

Addressing Kotaku directly in a release on Dow Jones Newswires – in which EA denies that the delay of Anthem is due to development being behind schedule – EA’s finance chief Blake Jorgensen confirmed that a new Battlefield is coming later this year.

Electronic Arts says it is now planning to release Anthem, an online multiplayer action game from its Bioware Studio, in early 2019 instead of Fall 2018 as originally planned. The company denies a report in videogame site Kotaku earlier this month claiming the change is due to development being behind schedule. Instead, EA is planning to release a new Battlefield game in October and it determined that Anthem, the new intellectual property, would get more attention if it came out in a quieter quarter. “It’s not a delay, ” EA’s finance chief Blake Jorgensen tells the WSHJ.” People are trying to create a story.

Stay tuned for more details on the new Battlefield game. Meanwhile, a major Battlefield 1 update went live today delivering the new Turning Tides DLC, which adds new maps, modes and vehicles.
