Bungie has confirmed that the Destiny 2 Raid has been beaten for the first time by clan The Legend Himself.
The Leviathan Raid was rolled out yesterday morning and took almost six hours for the team, lead by YouTube member Slayerage, to triumph in the puzzle-heavy mission.
Destiny 2 new PvP map unlocked
Bungie confirmed the news on Twitter and also revealed that a brand new PvP map, Emperor’s Respite, has been unlocked as a result of completing the Raid.
Completing the Raid also opens up the next step of a special exotic quest, which rewards you with a powerful Shotgun known as the Legend of Acrius. In addition, the Tower receives a new vendor once the Raid is beaten, appearing down the stairs near Hawthrone.
Looking ahead, the Raid will receive a new difficulty mode in the shape of Prestige, which Bungie has said will be made available in October.
Destiny 2 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, and hits PC late next month. The game takes place following the events of Rise of Iron from the original game, and sees the Tower come under attack by a Cabal unit known as the Red Legion.
The science-fiction shooter topped the U.K. All Format Chart upon its release, though the game failed to match launch sales of its predecessor back in 2014. Nonetheless, the game still notched up 1.2 million concurrent players last Friday.
Looking ahead, the weekly vendor Xur will make his Destiny 2 debut tomorrow morning, while the Iron Banner is set to roll out for the first time next month. Finally, the first Destiny 2 DLC, known as Curse of Osiris, is due out in December.
