It’s never too early to talk about some of the biggest JRPG’s coming out in the future. 2020 is upon us and it features a slew of amazing Role Playing Games, but there is just something special about Japanese Role Playing Games that fans just can’t get enough of yet, from the likes of Final Fantasy VII: Remake to Persona 5: Royal.

Reunite with Cloud, Tifa, Barret and many other iconic characters as you take on the evil Shinra corporation in the first of what is promised to be a multi-part series for Final Fantasy VII: Remake
Final Fantasy VII: Remake looks to reinvent the title while doing it’s best to bring back fans of the original, by expanding on characters backstories, revamping the summoning system, and expand on the already great Materia system.

2020 PS4 JRPG Games – Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail is getting its first major console release and it’s looking to be a stunner. Set in the land of Magnolia, Fairy Tale follows the adventure of Natsu and his Fairy Tail Guild as they battle numerous dark guilds and fight to restore the reputation of the guild.
Fairy Tail is a turn-based RPG and will feature plenty of characters from the franchise to face off against and join the party. You’ll also be able to rebuild your guild, take on plenty of side quests, and explore the world at your leisure.

2020 PS4 JRPG Games – Persona 5: Royal

Persona 5 is already considered one of the greatest JRPG titles ever made. It’s super stylish, its music is catchy as hell, and it makes going back to school kind of fun. So what could be better than getting an updated version of the game with a new character, expanded story, and an insane amount of extra content? 2020 PS4 JRPG Games – Trials of Mana

Trials of Mana never made it outside of Japan when it was originally released. In 2020 not only is it finally coming stateside, it’s coming as a full-on remake. This action RPG is going to make a splash and continues the legendary Mana franchise which is almost 30 years old.
The unique catch with Trials of Mana is the unique mechanic of selecting who your main character is going to be and who the supporting members are. Trials of Mana will allow you to switch party members on the fly and features a fully remastered soundtrack, extra story content, and an upgraded battle system.

2020 PS4 JRPG Games – Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris

The latest title in the Sword Art Online video games is finally coming in 2020. Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris takes place during the Alicization arc of the anime and reunites Kirito with his friends as they try to solve yet another mystery set in a virtual world.
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris looks to faithfully adapt the story of the Alicization arc and is set to be the best in the franchise yet, with smooth looking combat, plenty of character customization and a robust skill system.

2020 PS4 JRPG Games – Sakura Wars
Spring 2020
Sakura Wars is a very popular and historic franchise that hasn’t seen the light outside of Japan for quite a while. Sakura Wars finally makes its way to the west with the first-ever PS4 title sometime this spring. Set in a fictional 1940’s Tokyo. Sakura Wars sees you join the all-female Flower Division of the Imperial Combat Revue as you help protect Japan from invading forces and demonic creatures.
Sakura Wars is an interesting title that blends genres in a unique way. Take on demonic forces in awesome mech combat that mimics titles like Dynasty Warriors and other action-packed titles. The other portion of the game meanwhile will see you exploring an entire city and building friendships and relationships with your teammates with different dialogue options that shape the relationships you have with those around you.
