Now that Sony has made the June 11 reveal of the PlayStation 5 games line-up properly official, we now have some additional details about the presentation itself. The first of these is that the presentation will broadcast in 1080p at 30 frames per second. Now, while this might be something of a downer for folks who wanted to see the first PlayStation 5 games at their highest fidelity, Sony cited the fact that it helped improve the production process.
You can see the official statement as seen below:
Now that the event is confirmed for June 11, I wanted to add that this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. This eased the show’s production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you’ll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you’d expect.
Also, Sony has said that the PlayStation 5 reveal is best listened to not through speakers or a TV, but rather through headphones as the platform holder has promised some ‘cool audio work’ in the presentation that no doubt seeks to showcase the power of the PS5’s Tempest Engine audio chipset to those watching at home:
It’s also best if you watch while wearing headphones, if you can — there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.
Originally set for a June 4 reveal, Sony delayed the unveiling of these first PlayStation 5 titles to make way for key voices that needed to be heard during this time of civil unrest and racial tension.
