Activision’s free-to-play battle royale effort Call of Duty Warzone has hit more than 60 million players in a brand new milestone. After smashing through 15 million, 30 million and 50 million milestones previously, it looks like there’s no stopping the juggernaut FPS as players literally flock to it by the millions.
As to the game itself, Activision has committed to supporting it for the long-term. Not only will the game receive constant week in, week out updates, but larger content updates such as proposed 200 player matches are lurking on the horizon. Additionally, Call of Duty Warzone is also set to release for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X next generation consoles too.

The success of Call of Duty Warzone can perhaps be best measured against the slowly dwindling fortunes of its nearest and greatest rival Apex Legends. The Respawn developed and EA published free-to-play shooter came out of gate strongly at release, commanded a huge following and substantial esports presence in the process.
Since then however, a general lack of additional meaningful content and the debut of Call of Duty Warzone have both been factors in the gradual slowing down of player interest.
