Fallout New Vegas PS4 – How Can You Play It?

Fallout New Vegas PS4

Is Fallout New Vegas PS4 a thing? Easily one of the most adored entries in the whole Fallout franchise, PS4 players have been wondering for a while now whether or not Bethesda’s Fallout New Vegas will ever be playable on PS4. Well, there’s both good news and bad news to be had here, so let’s get to it.

Fallout New Vegas PS4 – What’s The Deal?

Starting with the bad news, there is no Fallout New Vegas PS4 release planned as of right now. With Bethesda’s attention now elsewhere with existing titles like Fallout 76, The Elder Scrolls Online and on-going development for Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 for next-generation consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett, it seems like there isn’t much time for them to sort out a PS4 release of Fallout New Vegas (especially as original developer Obsidian Entertainment, is also off doing other things too such as The Outer Worlds and other games).

That said, if you want to play Fallout New Vegas on your PS4, you’re not totally out of options as it stands.

Originally developed and released for PS3, Fallout New Vegas can actually be played on PS4 via the PlayStation Now game streaming service.

Though this is far from ideal, since the version you’ll be streaming is the bog standard PS3 version from years ago, it’s still the only way as of right now to play Fallout New Vegas on your PS4. Obviously if this situation changes, we’ll be sure to let you know!

Interestingly however, rumors about Fallout New Vegas 2 reignited a couple of years ago when developer Obsidian Entertainment said that they would be excited to take on the project – however, since then many things have changed; not least the fact that in addition to concentrating on their own IP such as The Outer Worlds and Pillars of Eternity, they also happened to be owned by Microsoft now too.
