You mean to tell me you like your 360 better than the PS2?

You really have changed...

Yea! The GAMES on Ps2 were good, but the 360 is a better CONSOLE. I like the online alot (Ps2's was crap!) I like the gamerpoint and acheivement system (None on Ps2). The graphics and sound are better on 360. (That's a given). The sense of online community and chatting and video chatting (Absent from Ps2) It's an all around better console then Ps2. Just like Ps2 was better then Psone and Psone better then SNES and so on and so on. The Ps2 was never god's gift to the gaming world (Nothing ever is) and while I enjoyed it when I had it (Last gen Ps2 was the better console) I've moved on to better things. Sorry if that upsets you. I simply have more fun with the 360. Again Ps2's games were good, but I'm not just a single player all to myself type of gamer. I like having all the online ablilities like talking to my freinds, playing games with my freinds, video chatting with my freinds, playing online games, downloading new stuff for my games, downloading vidoes and trailers, HD movies and TV shows all at my fingertips 24 hours a day. Would you say PS3 is better then PS2?

Well the 360 is my favourite console since the PS1. I loved my PS2, but compared to what the PS1 was it didn't hold a candle IMO. If the 360 keeps this up for a couple more years then I may even place it on par with the PS1 or maybe even above it. Who knows, but its definately better than the PS2 IMO.

So you feel the PSone is better then 360 right? (Simply clarifying what you said, not looking to argue)

Have you gotten a PS3 yet?

Yep. My best gaming experiences are still on that console (FFVII, FFVIII, GT, MGS, ISS, the 2 oddworld games, Tekken, Ridge Racer, Tony Hawks Crash Bandicoot, Ape Escape, Parasite Eve, Soul Blade, Driver, Twisted Metal, Resident Evil, etc, etc). And thats just off the top of my head in terms of games I loved on that console. Those were games that shaped the face of 3d gaming forever and nothing comes close to the feeling I felt when playing those games for the 1st time.

Nope, I haven't got a PS3, but hopefully I'll have one by the end of this year. Then I'm all set for another 4/5 years with both the 360 and PS3 :D .

I feel the exact same way but instead of the PS1 on the N64 with Mario 64, Mariokart 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Ocarina Of Time, etc. Nothing yet compares to the fun I had with those games on that machine.

Ya know I'd have to agree with those feeling of playing those games for the first time. Resident Evil especially! I had NEVER been frightened by a game before. Then Silent Hill took it one step further. Final Fantasy VII is my all time favorite game and I remember enjoying that one for months! I guess then I would say PSone then 360 in my book. Thanks for reviving those memories.

Hey speaking of SH. Any word on the latest iteration? Like will it be on 360? I think if it's PS3 exclusive THEN I will buy a PS3.

The next SH hasn't been announced yet I don't think...

But yeh, going back to the PS1 it had new IP's popping up all over the place, fresh ideas and gaming innovation galore. That is what makes it untouchable IMO. Although the N64 was good it was limited by the cartridge and the lack of game support in the way that the PS1 had. But I guess whichever one was your 3d console will always hold a special place in your heart.

Impressive. Normally such a thread on lesser forums would have incited mass trolling/gnashing of teeth. However I am impressed that this has all been discussed in a very civilised manner. Good to see both pros and cons of both systems being discussed and everyone seems fairly unbiased. After wasting my time arguing with trolls on Digg, I think I know where I should be spending more of my time!

Sorry, slightly off topic I know, just had to share :)

As with everyone else I found PS1 to be the overall best console of recent times, the Playstation Era if you don't mind it being called that. Although baring mind that this gen is only just begining really, I remain sceptical that it will be the beauty of PS1, but I think 360 is probably running, currentl;y, the closest to doing so.
So many good games, and truely new experiences regularly.

And kingofkings that so true, the first time I played RE, and later SH, not only was it scary but it was just amazing, it seemed like there was never anyhting like those games before.
Even tho I'd played many RPGs before FF7 just took it to a whole new level and really had me engrossed more than I've ever been aside from a few SNES and Megadrive games.

I've never owned a 360, but I had a problem like this a long time ago. I had an N64, and nothing good was coming out for it while the PSone already had a bunch of games for it. I had a garage sale to make money so I could buy a PSone, but in the end my parents made me save that money so I ended up putting it in the bank. I sold my N64 to get that PSone, and had enough money left over to get a game (Tekken 3 man!)

So while I'd suggest something like "keep the 360, but also get the PS3" I don't know if that's possible for you. It's always fun to be diverse and have as many game systems as possible. There's really no draw for me with the 360, maybe it's not something I can understand. But at any rate, good luck with your purchases and all that.

next-gen SH *drool*
While very little has been officially confirmed, chief designer of Silent Hill 5, Masashi Tsuboyama announced the game's development in a 2004 interview with Eurogamer. In the same interview, he stated that Konami wasn't sure which next-generation console it would be released on. Although dodging the question, composer/producer Akira Yamaoka recently shed some light upon the question with, "We cannot say yet, but we are hoping to carry on the plans of the earlier Silent Hill platforms."
PS was indeed numero uno.I can't list x360 above the ps2 yet.The games on the ps2 were satisfying and great, can't say the same about the x360 games.(even GeoW) They've lacked length and story, but the future titles are promising.

My uncle who was 27 at the time (Big, strong weight lifter guy) stayed with me for awhile during that period. I remember renting RE first cause I had never heard of it before. It was dark and the way my room was situated if you were sitting in front of my TV your back was facing my hallway. So he's playing it and playing it and all the while keeps looking over his shoulders. I'm like "What are you doing". His reply. "Making sure no m***********g zombies creep up on my ***" I nearly broke out in tears from laughter.

He was serious!

If you already have both why sell the 360? Are you trying to recoup your loses?

EDIT: CRAP I double posted. Does it still count even though it's another page? Please don't infract me.

RE truly scared the living hell out of me when one of those damned spiders dropped down from the ceiling right in front of me. I actually jolted, shouted, and fell on my ass in the process. As much as I HATE spiders, those were some good times...

I also agree that the PS1 was the greatest console. SNES 2nd, X360 3rd, PS2 4th IMO.
